Last week, the first in May, right on cue I heard the cuckoo for the first time this year. It heralded a week of torrential rain, not quite what the cuckoo had in mind but no doubt welcomed by gardeners whose soil had already become too hard to dig and whose lawns had started turning brown due to the prolonged hot dry spell of late.
With the progression into the month of May we see the end (almost) of plug plants for sale. We are moving on to the ready planted pots of summer bedding, basket and patio plants. Currently we are offering three plants of geranium, fuchsia, surfinia, million bells and tuberous begonia in 8cm pots for £1.95
